Who mooved my cheese

This my understanding after i read this book by Spencer Johnson

When i joined college for my degree i was pretty excited and had a childish enthusiasm. But then the hard realty hit me. Life had changed. I was thrown from the security of my mothers pallu to the dangerous world. This change in life took me by surprise. I would have messed up here but for my dad and a jesuit priest name Fr. Arokiaswamy S.J. Later in life i read this book which help me adjust to new situations in life. Here is my understanding after i have read this book.

Change is something inevitable. It s a unavoidable aspect of life. No one can escape from it. Given this fact its very important we equip ourselves for change.

1. Prepare your self for change
This is a physical, mental, mental and a spiritual process. Change should not take you by surprise.

2.Acquire change skills
Skill #1: Anticipating Change
Anticipating Change is the ability to see what has happened in the past and what is happening now, and realizing what is most likely going to happen next. When you use this skill and become experienced at anticipating change, you feel more in control in changing situations, and become more valuable.

Skill #2: Taking New Actions Now
Taking New Actions Now is the ability to see what you need to do differently and to do it soon. Then, look at the results and see where you need to correct your course and do something differently again. As you scurry into new actions, you become more energetic and influence others to try new things as well.

Skill #3: Moving Beyond Fear
Moving Beyond Fear is the ability to do what you would do if you weren't afraid. It doesn't mean that you may not still have the fear, but you don't let fear hold you back. When you move beyond fear, you feel more confident, creative, and effective, and are more likely to enjoy your work.

Skills #4: Imagining Real Succes
Imagining Real Success is the ability to see what you would like to have happen, in such realistic detail. As you imagine real success, you feel happier and less stressed, even before you get an ideal outcome."

3. Achieve the change process
Well now that you have prepared yourself for change and have acquired the skills for it, its time you jump into the sea and swim. Keep on doing it till you reach the other side.
